Monroe, Washington

Next up is a Thousand Trails Park just outside of Monroe, Washington.  We are here for 3 weeks.  We took a drive up to Leavenworth one evening and had dinner and checked out this amazing little town.  Leavenworth is a Bavarian themed village that has Alpine style buildings with restaurants serving German beer and food all along Front Street.  We walked around some and checked out what shops were open that evening.  Unfortunately many were closed already.  I did manage to find a magnet and some ginger cookies.  Wouldn’t mind going back here again for a better look.

Among so many things that I love about this area… the fact that it’s still daylight at 9:30 at night and then again at 4:30 in the morning… is one of them.  Makes for nice long days.

While we have been here… we have also been able to get some mail sent to us and…. good news!!!!…. We got our passports!!!  So excited about this.  Now we can take a day and go into Canada while we are up here so close to it.  Plus we have lots of other future plans that this makes more possible.

We also have gone over to check out the Everett Farmer’s Market.  I told ya… we LOVE a good Farmer’s Market.  We have been to many during our last year and a half of travel and we’ve seen some good ones and some really not so good ones.  This… was a good one.  We ended up finding dinner for the evening… some good pasta and sauce, fresh bread and local wine.  It was fabulous too.

Before our time ended here, we drove over and spent the better part of the day in Seattle.  Had an awesome lunch, went to Pike Place again, because you know…. you can never go there too many times, we also went to Archie McPhee’s and I got the kids some cool stuff and last but not least… we finally went and saw the Troll Under the Bridge.  I love seeing new and weird things.
