Our Desert Limbo

Between Christmas and boondocking and then our truck messing up and having to have it in the shop… it feels like we have been in the desert forever.  I am over desert life and all it entails. We did however have some awesome sunsets and we were able to get some stuff from Amazon, one of which being a portable campfire.  We had been wanting one for awhile but after seeing them at the Xscapers Bash and checking out different ones… we knew which we wanted and got it.  At least now in areas where you can’t have an actual campfire, we can use our faux fire as one.

Before the truck started giving us problems and ended up in the shop, we were suppose to have moved on to San Diego for a week.  I had been looking in the area for interesting things to do and found a really cool looking restaurant doing a Valentines Cocktail and Charcuterie Calss.  I bought tickets not knowing the truck would mess up.  Robert also had a meeting scheduled with a friend there too… so we ended up renting a car and driving over for a day.  I certainly would love to come back and spend way more time here.  Anywho… We did a little sightseeing and then went to the class.

The restaurant was at Cafe 21 and what an evening… I can not go on or say enough about how fabulous the owners are.  They really made it a special evening for our little group.  Not only was it fun, but we had some very tasty cocktails, learned about preparing an awesome Charcuterie platter and then got to eat it all, but also learned so much from the owners who are from Azerbaijan.  It was a wonderful evening and when we are back in the San Diego area… their restaurant will be the top place to make sure we go for a nice dinner.

Yesterday we also decided to take our chances and go into Mexico.  We don’t have our passports yet, so we just took our id’s and our birth certificates.  Now we didn’t have any problems but I am not condoning our behavior and wouldn’t advise anyone else to do it, because you just never know…. but it worked for us.  We didn’t really do much at all, next time we go and have our passports we will explore much more.  I did however load up on my thyroid meds and we had an awesome lunch and that’s about all we did.

Now we are sitting and patiently waiting for Tuesday to get here so we can hook up and get the hell out of this place and move on to our next stop.  It’s Sunday, so not too much of a wait.
